As forecasters had promised, temperature today reached well above the freezing point, up to 39F. It was a beautiful day, with bright sunshine, giving one the sense of spring having sprung. Spring is not far indeed, near the end of February, even in this city that has its share of temperatures of 30 below.
Remember the snow emergency declared just 3 days ago? What snow emergency? Where is the snow?
As they say around here, if you don't like the weather, just wait and something to your liking will come around. How true that is!
But don't get yourself too comfortable. Alas, the opposite is true as well: the weather can turn nasty in no time. This is in the forecast: after another day of above-freezing temperature, there will be more than 8" of snow coming in with gusting winds up to 28 miles per hour, and daily minimum temperature will hit as low as 1F.
That is nature. It can sway temperature in such large a magnitude as easily as we can snap our fingers. How can we top that?
